The Grade 6 Applets went on the famous 'Heritage Walk' of the old city in Ahmedabad on 18.1.2020. The entire journey from the Swaminarayan Mandir to the Jami Masjid was awesome and full of amazing nuggets of facts. The students were fascinated to know about the old city of 'aapnu amdavad'. From the single person sloping passages to the steep steps of each monument were an experience in itself! The stretch of 2 Kms of the Heritage Walk came to an end soon. The planned architecture of the famous Pols, roads, buildings and bird houses generated much interest among our students. Overall it was extremely informative field visit for all the students as they felt connected to the living history of their own city. #academicsinahmedabad #appleglobalschool #agseducation #beanapplet #heritagewalkahmedabad

On 18th January, students of AGS went for a field visit to various heritage sites in the city. Ahmedabad City was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in India, owing to its history, culture, and rich heritage. Grade 5 students went to Dada Harir stepwell and Tribal museum. It is a beautiful monument which tells much about its diverse culture and tradition through its ambience. The stepwell was built in 1485 by Dhai Harir, a household lady of Mahmud Begada. Dada Harir stepwell is five stories deep. It is octagonal (8-sided polygon) in shape structurr from the top, built on several intricately carved pillars. The air and light vents in the roofs at various floors and at the landing level are in the form of large openings. From the first level, three staircases lead to the bottom water level of the well, which is considered a unique feature. It took about 75 years to construct this monument. The second place our Applets visited the same day was the tribal museum where the collection of various artifacts provided a vivid visual picture of the different aspects of tribal life, culture and art. Retaining the authenticity and richness of the tribal culture and traditions, this museum showcases the homes of the tribes such as- Rabari, Bhil, Chodhara Dhanka, Tadvi, Tetaria, Valvi Dhodia, Dhodi etc. highlighting their codependency on natural resources. The houses in the gallery are made up of eco-resources like mud, bamboo, dung, hay, grass also portraying the essentials such as agricultural tools, earthenware used by the people from the tribal communities. It is a space through which life stories are being told and shared with the world in imaginative ways. The Applets added to their knowledge bank while exploring both the places with fun. #appleglobalschool #academicsinahmedabad #agseducation #beanapplet

On 18.01.2020 a field trip was organised for the grade 7 students at Adalaj Stepwell and Hatteesingh Jain temple. At first we visited the Adalaj stepwell which gave an exposure to our Applets about its ancient architecture, the structural design, and of the history behind the magnificent well. It was interesting to know the objective behind the construction - which was to provide some relief to the people of the Kingdom (during the 15th century) who had to walk miles to fetch water in the dry and drought-prone region. Next, we visited Hatteesingh Jain temple. It is dedicated to Lord Dharmanatha. It has 52 small temples in it's sanctum. The children got a glimpse about jainism, its rituals and traditions. The students enjoyed some fun time with their friends as well. Later, the students shared their views about the field trip. #agseducation #appleglobalschool #academicsinahmedabad #beanapplet #schoolfieldtrip
