The festival of lights brings with itself the ultimate delight of triumph of Lord Rama over Ravana, implicitly imparting the moral value of good over evil to the society. And the celebrations are extended across the nation, creating a homogenous environment of good will and happiness. The morning sets the day and the assembly paves the way for our students to rejuvenate their spirits, remain rooted to the moral values and unleash their vitality. A well planned assembly was conducted by grade 2 Infinity Applets, with the theme of eco-friendly Diwali. The assembly included prayer, Thought of the day, Word of the day, Dance drama, Ramayan Chaupai, Amazing facts, and National Anthem. Every child was given the opportunity and the platform to display their talent and present themselves under the guidance of their mentors. Applets shared the message of celebrating eco-friendly Diwali by adopting preventive measures of limiting the sound decibel of crackers, discouraging potassium chlorate products, promoting better alternatives for decorations and the increasing production of e-crackers, the festival can be better enjoyed. Environment pollution is not an ailment that can be cured with these measures overnight, but it is the proper time to take a step towards eco-friendly practices in whatever we do. We, at AGS, take pride in creating an ambiance for learning that invigorates and unfolds the true potential of every child right from the assembly time. We call it- “Praying and paving our way to excellence”.

We all know how great it feels to receive gifts. However, the joy of getting can be short-lived. Our lives are richer only when we share, and that great inner joy comes from helping others to better their lives. Truly giving from the heart fills our life with joy and nourishes our soul. The act of Giving provides an intrinsic reward that’s far more valuable than the gift itsrlf. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “To find yourself, lose yourself in the service of others.” This teaching was put into practice when Applets of preschool visited 'Shantipura Prathmik Shala' and gifted handmade diyas to it's students. There was happiness all around as both giver and receiver were full of Joy. Enjoy the pics and specially look at the eyes of all the kids twinkling with happiness.... Enjoy Diwali by sharing and caring..🕯🏮🍨 #greendiwali #agseducation #appleglobalschool #sharing #valueeducation

*JOSH Activity Report by Applets (Part -2) This is our interview with the nomad from Pali in Rajasthan. We met a nomad and his brother's family who were in the Sanand area just outside our school. They had a huge family with 10 people, six were kids and 4 were adults. They move from place to place with their small vehicle. They sell balloons for a living and usually earn about 1500 rupees altogether. They earn just enough money for a living day to day. The elder brother takes good care of his and his brother’s family and always provides them with food and water but smokes beedi a lot. They buy water from the hotels nearby or any tap available on the way. They have recently come from Botach and are going to Besraj. They once had a house in Pali till 2014 but it was demolished by the government in 2014 and they were dislocated along with other two to three lakh people. Since that time, they are homeless and have become nomads. But, they say they are satisfied with their lives and have accepted what they have. *They have even sacrificed their dreams.* They cannot even educate their children because they can’t live in one place. The government did not support them at all and did not let them build a house. They celebrate all festivals and buy a few crackers in Diwali and kites in uttarayan to their children. They can’t even have a bath everyday and they even eat food off the ground. Our suggestions to them were- 1) We suggested them not to smoke a packet of beedi every day as it costs around 25 rupees and it could cost him his life. He can buy biscuits or chocolates in 25 rupees instead of beedi. 2) We suggested them to try and build a hut in a slum so that they can stay in one place and educate their children. 3) We suggested them not to sacrifice their dreams cause if they try to achieve them they would surely succeed and their children would have a bright future. 4)We suggested them to use their money wisely and only on essential necessities like footwear, water, clothes and food. The festival of lights is just around the corner and to light up the spark of this holy festival a Diwali Mela was held here at AGS campus to celebrate the joyous festival with the Applets Family. All the students and teachers along with parents were actively involved to make this celebration a success with gaiety and enthusiasm. Keeping up with the concept of Green School, we feel proud to highlight that most of the decoration was done with the old, torn and waste clothes which was collected and segregated by the students and stitched by the support staff. Many innovative DIY items were created to recycle the old into useful new items. Eat, shop, chill and enjoy the presence of happiness around was exactly needed to make the festive day a blessing for the AGS community. The money collected from the AGS stalls is given to JOSH (our social awareness initiative project). Diwali is a family celebration, AGS family takes pride to make the day full of merriment and laughter. Melodious music filled the air with the live orchestra set up by our young Applets. The Selfie Station thrilled the parents as they clicked pics with the props prepared by the students. The Art snd Craft Stall was eye-catching. The artistic talent of our Applets was really appreciated by one and all. The art pieces in the Art Exhibition and the Craft Stall sold off like hot cakes. It was amazing to see our young Applets working on the Charkha spinning thread to promote Khadi. Apart from these stalls there were many more stalls which proved to be full of fun and excitment. Our students and their parents had put up these stalls of yummy food items, fun games and exhibiting their products. Apple Global School wishes all our friends and AGS family a Happy and Safe Diwali. "Give our children a green and secure future. Say NO to fireworks"
