Mothers deserve to be celebrated every day. They do not often get their due. Their tireless contributions towards the family, the many sacrifices made by them are worthy of a mention and acknowledgement. Mother’s Day, as such, comes as a reminder to think about mothers, and mother-like figures in our life, who inspire us every day, and make us want to be better people. Today, with a pandemic raging on, it is all the more important for you to hold your mother close, and tell her how much she means to you. If you have someone who is like a mother to you, remind them of their importance, and do something special for them; like play them their favourite movie, cook them a meal, or simply pamper them! #bestschoolinahmedabad #beanapplet #appleglobalschool #bestschoolofahmedabad #bestschoolofgujarat #bestschoolingujarat #CBSE

"Work and Life Balance during Pandemic" was the topic discussed through a wonderful online workshop for all the stakeholders of Apple Global School on 2nd October. Dr Darshan Shah, city's leading Psychiatrist, a consultant Psychiatrist at several hospitals & his own clinic The Purple Center, has been associated with AGS since last several years. Dr Kersi Chavda, a leading Psychiatrist from Mumbai with 35 years of experience in the field was the Keynote Speaker. He talked about the rising cases of mental health issues during the Pandemic and how to deal with them by strengthening our mental health and value systems. He spoke about the symptoms of depression ,anxiety, panic attack, Obssessive Compulsive Disorder, etc. and how to recognise the symptoms and when to seek professional help. He talked about the impact of working in close proximity of the family members and not having enough time for our own peace, the mental impact of job loss or salary reduction on the individual, the rise of physical and emotional violence due to being stuck in the same space. The teachers, and parents were encouraged to put forth their struggles. A few students from secondary school had also joined and asked relevant questions. The reassurance the staff and parents of AGS felt by the the end of the session was amazing that 'We are not Alone' and 'This too shall Pass'. #appleglobalschool #beanapplet #indianpsychiaticsociety #mentalhealth #youarenotalone

"Peace will not come out of a clash of arms but out of justice lived and done by unarmed nations in the face of odds. Not to believe in the possibility of permanent peace is to disbelieve in the Godliness of human nature".-Mahatma Gandhi We must all renew our commitment to global solidarity. To sustain peace, we must build it every day, in every society, with every woman and man, by working together towards a better common future for all. In a world troubled with conflict, a day dedicated to peace reminds us of Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of Ahimsa or non-violence. It is a United Nations' designated day, established in 1981. In 2001, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) voted to call for "non-violence and cease-fire" on world peace day. The UN encourages countries to observe the day by adhering to "24 hours of non-violence". The theme for International Day of Peace 2020 is "Shaping Peace Together." Today people should "celebrate the day by spreading compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the (COVID-19) pandemic." #appleglobalschool #beanapplet #internationaldayofpeace2020 #worldpeaceday2020 #shapingpeacetogether

The ozone layer, a fragile shield of gas, protects the Earth from the harmful portion of the rays of the sun, thus helping preserve life on the planet. This year, we celebrate 35 years of the Vienna Convention and 35 years of global ozone layer protection. This stratospheric layer shields Earth from most of the sun’s harmful ultraviolet radiation. So, when scientists working in the late 1970s discovered that humanity was creating a hole in this protective shield, they raised the alarm. - - - -The hole caused by ozone-depleting gases (ODSs) used in aerosols and cooling, such as refrigerators and air-conditioners –was threatening to increase cases of skin cancer and cataracts, and damage plants, crops, and ecosystems. - A number of commonly used chemicals have been found to be extremely damaging to the ozone layer. Halocarbons are chemicals in which one or more carbon atoms are linked to one or more halogen atoms (fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine). The man-made chemicals that have provided most of the chlorine and bromine for ozone depletion are methyl bromide, methyl chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and families of chemicals known as halons, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). World Ozone Day, held on September 16, celebrates this achievement. It shows that collective decisions and action, guided by science, are the only way to solve major global crises. In this year of the COVID-19 pandemic that has brought such social and economic hardship, the ozone treaties’ message of working together in harmony and for the collective good is more important than ever. The slogan of the day, ‘Ozone for life’, #appleglobalschool #beanapplet #ozoneforlife #worldozoneday

This morning, our school had organized an in-house 'Board Games' Innovation' session. It was indeed an innovative presentation by the participants who had focused their work on the current pandemic that the world is facing at this point of time. Some presentations were on precautions, especially to be followed during COVID-19 period, while few others were on value-based themes. The initiatives and the earnest efforts taken up by the participants reflected throughout the session, are indeed appreciable. #appleglobalschool #beanapplet #agsonlineeducation
