AGS believes that experience is a better teacher than books, and to serve this purpose the school plans frequent field trips for Applets for us to experience and learn with enjoyment.
A field trip was planned to the Sarkhej Roza and Shreyas Foundation on 18th January 2020 for the students of Grade 8 and 9.
Sarkhej Roza is a historic place located in the Makarba village. It comprises of one of the most elegant and unique architectural complexes of Ahmedabad. It is an example of the early Islamic architectural culture of the region, which fused the Islamic style influences from Persia with indegenous features to form a composite “Indo-Sarcenic” style.
Sarkhej Roza was built 500 years ago in the memory of King Ahmed Shah. This venue is the pride of our city and attracts thousands of tourists every year.
The second venue was the Shreyas Foundation. The complex comprises of two museums namely- Balayatan & The Art and Performances museum.
The Gujarat Art and Performance museum exhibits handmade work of artisans from all over the state. It is a showcase for traditional lifestyle, accessories, clothes and the culture of Gujarat.
The Balayatan museum exhibits diverse cultures of the country, and of the world. It is a gallery of medieval lifestyle and currency.
All Applets enjoyed the trip and learned immensely from it.
