Virtual Club session continues and today we are focusing on Pythagoras Club In the last session we had a wonderful session based on the area of a circle Firstly we were briefed with various area formulas and understood how each formula is derived and works We then did this activity where we learnt how the area of a circle is equal to the area of a rectangle and we then started creating our own visual diagram by following the steps told by our club mentor Various steps which were followed in making the outcome of the activity are as follows The below attached file is an example of what we did in the activity as well as in the session 1 Firstly with a compass we took a radius of let s say 8cm and drew a circle 2 We then cut the circle into 16 wedges of equal sizes with the help of a protractor and numbered them 3 After that we took the small wedges and alternated them to form a rectangle 4 Lastly we observed that the area of a circle is equal to the area of a rectangle
